Editor’s note

December is the season to remember the birth of our Savior and to look forward to His return. The salvation of Lord Jesus Christ is vividly revealed in His incarnation—coming to dwell among us—and in His redemptive death on the cross. In this issue, we feature the sermon of Rev. Lam Siu Fung of Ka Fook Church, Chinese Conference. He chose the passage about the two disciples meeting the Lord on the road to Emmaus, explaining that Jesus came into the world precisely to seek mankind and to open our eyes, so that everyone may know Him by faith. Even those who are powerless can be used by Him, becoming part of God’s great plan of redemption. May we be inspired through this reading so that our “eyes are opened”!

This issue’s profile interview is with Elder Timothy Chan of Wing Kwong Church. He is one of the first generation members of Wing Kwong, who has walked closely with pastors for decades, witnessing the church’s growth from a humble beginning to abundance. From how he responded with a positive attitude to the twists and turns of life, we believe his story can inspire us to reflect on the true meaning of faith and to reconsider the significance of life itself.

Life is unpredictable. Let us earnestly pray for the residents who survived the fire at Wang Fuk Court, Tai Po, on November 26, 2025. May God’s grace be upon them, and through the care and assistance of society, may they receive all the support and help they need. May God also open our hearts as Christians to compassion and mercy: to weep with those who weep, to rejoice with those who rejoice, to encourage the discouraged, to support the weak, and to lead more people to know God who gives life, so that under whatever circumstances they may find true peace. Amen!
